Charity Partners Electric Run

start line at Electirc Run

Breast Cancer Care has been chosen as the first official UK charity partner for Electric Run, the night 5k run/walk event which is set to launch in the UK this summer. Featuring immersive 'Lands' of light and sound that see participants move through electric zones, it is a craze that swept through the USA last year. In its inaugural year, the events racked up over 300,000 participants.

Electric Run is now set to be a huge hit in the UK with events lined up at Wembley Park, London (26 April) and at Sportcity in Manchester (10 May), with more to be confirmed.

Prospective entrants will be given the opportunity to sign up to Electric Run with reduced charity rates in return for fundraising for Breast Cancer Care, either as individuals or within teams. Breast Cancer Care is the only UK wide charity providing support and tailored information for anyone affected by breast cancer.

Tom Whitehead, Sporting & Challenge Events Manager at Breast Cancer Care said: “We are incredibly excited to be charity partner for the first year of Electric Run in the UK. The events will enable Breast Cancer Care to engage with new audiences and raise awareness of our vital work providing specialist services which help people live with, through and beyond breast cancer. Electric Run will offer an event of high quality which we know our supporters will be thrilled to participate in.”

Electric Run has chosen JustGiving as its inaugural fundraising partner in the UK. Charles Wells, Chief Marketing Officer at JustGiving, comments: “We’re very proud to be part of Electric Run UK.We believe super social events like this are part of the future of fundraising, offering participants a unique experience and great reasons to share their support for a cause they care about. We’re looking forward to introducing Electric Run to runners looking for something fresh.”

The race is the brainchild of Dan Hill, one half of the team that founded the Ragnar Relay series in America. He said: “We can’t wait to light-up London and Manchester with the Electric Run. Wembley Park is an iconic location and a fitting place to kick off our UK tour.  And Sportcity is certain to be a great night.”
