The ballot to enter the National Lottery Olympic Park Run is due to close on midnight tonight - Thursday, October 27. The five mile event takes place on Saturday, March 31 and gives the public the unique opportunity to be amongst the first to cross the finishing line in the Olympic Stadium.
The race opened its ballot for registration on September 30 with a £15 entry fee. Only 5000 lucky entrants will be drawn at random and will have the honour of being the first official competitors in the Olympic Stadium.
Successful applicants will be informed by next Friday, November 4. Before finishing in the stadium, the race will take in other world-class venues within the Olympic Park, including the Velodrome and Aquatics Centre.
Each runner will also be given two spectator passes each so their chosen supporters can witness them cross the finish line on the same track that is set to be graced by Usain Bolt, Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis and the rest of the world's greatest athletes just a few months later.
