As the Color Run Presented by Skittles returns to the UK later this year, organisers have announced new features to look out for, including a tropical twist. The event, billed as the happiest 5k on the planet, will be held in Manchester on 2 July.
New features include the following:
1 Fifth Colour Zone
Up until now, Color Runners have been covered in colour at four stages throughout the route, but, new for 2016, runners will be treated to a fifth colour zone. To coincide with the Tropicolor Tour, an all-new Tropicolor rainbow Color Zone will be added, where runners will be bathed in a tropical array of colours as they make their way to the finish line, making it truly impossible to finish the run without being covered head to toe in colour!
With Skittles as the new title sponsor of the event, participants can pick up their free Skittles once they’ve made their way round the route. The event will also feature a RED colour zone allowing runners to ‘run the rainbow’.
3 Limited edition stash
Think new style T-shirts, headbands, fun tattoos and much more! These items will be adding an extra splash of fun and colour for friends and family to enjoy together.
4 A taste of the tropics
Runners should keep their eyes peeled for items that will help transport them to their very own tropical island. The Color Run will be bringing an island vacation to each city, meaning participants don’t have to jump on a plane to visit paradise this year.
The Color Run sees participants aged 1 to 81 get involved in the event, with children under 5 able to take part for free. Adult entries are priced from £23 per person. For more information, visit the Color Run website.
