Decade dawns for English Half Marathon

English Half Marathon

This Sunday (16 September) will mark a significant milestone in the history of the English Half Marathon with the event set to celebrate its 10th year. Just a matter of days remain for prospective entrants to register and experience the spectacular finish through the town’s Golden Gates.

Over the last decade, the half’s reputation has gone from strength to strength and, in 2014, the event expanded to become the EHM Festival of Run with the addition of a 10k road race and family fun run. Last year saw a further expansion with the launch of the Friday Night 5K.

This year will also see the inclusion of the Event Village, which will develop more of a ‘festival’ feel and the staging of the very first Active Lifestyle EXPO. The Active Lifestyle EXPO is being held in partnership with Golden Square Warrington and will take place on Friday 14 & Saturday 15 September in their fantastic event space – the Old Market Square.

The EXPO is aimed at anyone interested in improving their health and fitness and is in the ideal location to attract runners and their families, as well as shoppers and visitors to the town.

If you want to be part of this year’s event, entries are still being taken for the 5K Night Run, WireFM Mile and half marathon. Registration is available here.
