There may not be many chances left to set a 2014 PB yet those competing at the Derby Runner Bolsover 10K might well be in with a good shout. This Sunday’s event, set to attract a sell out field of 1000 runners, has established a reputation as one of the fastest on the circuit with a predominantly flat course.
Organised by North Derbyshire Running Club, the race begins at Mooracre Lane and finishes within the grounds of Bolsover School. The one lap route requires runners to keep to the left hand side of the road, with a drinks station provided at the 5k point.
Last year’s event saw Birchfield Harriers’ Ben Livesey secure a convincing victory in 31:03, more than a minute ahead of Gareth Lowe (32:39), Aidan Johnson in third (33:13). First in the female competition was Jenny Blizzard in 37:38, with Jenny Reed taking second in 38:40.
Sponsors of the race, Derby Runner, will have a range of goods for sale with a 15% discount available to all 10k entrants. For more information, you can visit the event website here.
