Entries for the only 10 mile event in the Run For All portfolio are now open, with organsiers once again expecting a strong demand for places. An electric atmosphere, plus a cracking course that adopts many features of the 26.2 mile race, are both features that have made the Asda Foundation Yorkshire 10 Mile race a bit hit since its launch in 2015.
The event, scheduled for Sunday 20 October (the same day as the Yorkshire Marathon), begins in the heart of York and pass various historic landmarks including the stunning York Minster and the impressive medieval City Walls.
The race will also travel out into the Yorkshire countryside where runners will be treated to scenic surroundings as they run down quaint country roads. In addition to its course, the 10 mile distance is seen as an attractive proposition for those training for half or full marathon events.
Tristan Batley-Kyle,at race organiser Run For All, said: “From day one the response to the Yorkshire 10 Mile has been brilliant. The route is scenic and the distance is one that many people find manageable.”
The race has supplemented an event that has been a resounding success for the Run For All team. A sell-out every year since its launch in 2013, the Yorkshire Marathon now stands as one of the UK’s most popular marathons.
