Entries Open For Trail Chase

Berghaus Trail ChaseOrganisers of the Berghaus Trail Chase have confirmed that entries for the 2015 edition of the event, scheduled for the weekend of 1 / 2 August, are now open. The announcement came with news that the course, which takes runners on a trail adventure through the stunning North York Moors National Park, will be slightly modified from this year’s race.

The two-day event is split into three separate courses: these were, last year, colour coded and signed just like ski pistes with the longest course (55k) featuring black signs and black race numbers for the competitors, the middle course (40k) featuring red signs and red race numbers and the shortest course (25k) featuring blue signs and blue race numbers.

From the Event Centre, competitors are transported to their respective day one starts, which are different for each course. All three courses then converge on the same overnight campsite at the end of the first day.

Three months after the inaugural event, race director Shane Ohly said the response from competitors, blogs and press reports had been overwhelmingly positive: “The feedback from competitors in 2014 was universally superb but we did receive some well thought out observations to improve the event and I am always keen to listen to the competitors' experiences.”

“As race director, I always focus on the event details and I am fairly obsessive about getting this right. As such, we will be fine tuning the event for 2015 and I am very confident that we’ll be offering the very best weekend trail running event in the UK next August.”

The changes implemented will include: an improved plan for way-marking (some of which was removed last year); catering only available via online pre-order, allowing for a quicker service; changes to the event centre camping; revised start times, finish medals and team sizes.
