Exciting News At Snowdonia

Snowdonia Trail It seems the only way is up for the SCOTT Sports Snowdonia Trail Marathon with organisers announcing a sell out field for next month’s race and a new distance to accompany the marathon and half marathon. The event, scheduled for Sunday 24 July, will now include a 10k trail race, which, like its older siblings, promises a challenging route around Llanberis.

With an ascent of over 1.6k across the 26.2 miles, the marathon isn’t for the faint hearted yet it has become renowned for the spectacular panoramic views of Snowdonia National Park.

The marathon starts and finishes in the country’s adventure capital Llanberis, North Wales and visits Rhyd Ddu, Beddgelert, Nant Gwynant, Pen y Pass. A half marathon option is also available, which takes in some of the same fantastic trails as the full marathon as well as Padarn Country Park in the heart of the famous Dinorwig slate quarries.

As you would expect, the Snowdonia Trail 10K will offer a tough task for runners but with stunning views throughout. The course incorporates many of the sights around Llanberis including Padarn Country Park, Dolbadarn Castle and the Snowdon Llanberis Path, starting and finishing in the centre of Llanberis among the thousands of spectators expected on the day.

Registration is open now for the SCOTT Sports Snowdonia Trail 10K and with limited spaces available, signing up as early as possible is highly encouraged: organisers Always Aim High Events anticipate the new distance to quickly sell out, entry is priced at just £19.99.
