The Diane Modahl Sports Foundation (DMSF) has been confimed as an official charity partner for next month’s UKFast City of Salford 10K. The partnership brings an organisation championing young people from disadvantaged areas across the North West with the region's top events company.
One of Sports Tours International’s most popular events, the UKFast City of Salford 10k is a standout fixture in the North West race calendar. Over the past few years, it has consistently pulled in fields of 3,000 plus and the upcoming race, scheduled for Sunday 9 September, is on target to equal that.
As a key event in the community, the 10k shares a number of values with the foundation: including the use of sport and physical exercise for the greater good of society and encouraging a fit and healthy lifestyle and using sport to raise money for meaningful causes.
DMSF will field a team of 20 at the Salford race and aim to raise vital funds for the charity and to raise their profile. The money raised will be help talented young people from underprivileged areas to attend the Blackpool Track Field Open Meeting.
On the partnership, race organiser Kevin Harmer commented: “Sports Tours International is delighted to be working with three DMSF, giving them additional exposure of their good work and a platform to promote their key objectives.”
Kevin added: “Sport plays a massive part in charitable fundraising and we are really pleased to be working with charities that are working to help a number of different people in need.”
Entries for the City of Salford 10K remain open and are priced at just £21 (£19 affiliated runners) – registration is available here.
