Fancy A Change From Road Running?

If you'd like a change from road running then how about throwing in a bit of mountain biking as well? The New Year's Eve Duathlon takes place in Milford, Derbyshire on December 31, 2009 at 10am. The event consists of a 2.5 mile run, 9.5 mile bike and a 2.55 mile run to the finish, totalling 14.5 miles of fun, fast action ... and with FREE tea, coffee and toast for competitors after the event what other way would you want to end the year?

If you do not fancy doing the whole event by yourself, you can also enter as a relay, with one runner and one biker! Previous participants recommend the use of a mountain bike for the 'bike' section which is one lap of Chevin Road and an uphill climp along Ashbourne Road, finishing with a downhill, fast finish back to the start of the final run section. The run consisting of 'an out and back' route along Chevin Road and includes some gradual climbs.

The start is at the Social Club, Chevin Road, Milford (5 miles north of Derby on the A6). Changing and refreshments are available for runners and spectators. Pre-entry is £8 or entry on the day £10.
