Farah Aims For Commonwealth Double

Mo Farah

Mo Farah will compete for England in both the 5,000 and 10,000m at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games this summer. The 31-year-old had considered competing in the 1500m as well but will instead focus on a achieving a Commonwealth double.

Already a double Olympic champion, Farah was victorious in the 2013 World Championships at 5,000m and 10,000m. The 5,000m is the first men's track title to be decided at the Games, with the 10,000m held five days later. Farah will face strong competition from Kenyan and Ugandan athletes in both events.

It will be the Londoner's first Olympic Games since Melbourne 2006, after pulling out of the Delhi 2010 Games with fatigue. He will have a chance to experience the recently revamped Hampden Park 11 days before the Games as he competes at the Diamond League meeting on 12 July.
