Just a matter of days remain for anyone looking to bag what is most definitely one of the most stunning races on the running calendar, the Colshaw Hall 10K Knutsford. The race, scheduled for next Sunday (17 June), is set against the Colshaw Hall Country Estate in Cheshire.
The race starts in the shadow of the beautiful Grade II listed building in the Cheshire village of Over Peover and snakes through closed leafy country lanes passing the iconic Lovell telescope at Jodrell Bank. Runners will then return to Colshaw Hall for a stunning finish along the tree-lined driveway.
There will be a drink station at the 5k point with plenty of food, refreshments and goodies at the finish line not to mention the huge bespoke medal for all finishers for which the race has now become famous.
Last year saw Sale Harrier’s Gareth Raven take top spot in 33:39, with Wilmslow’s Peter Speake (33:54) second and Jamie Arnold (33:57) third. Hannah Jarvis grabbed first place in the women’s competition in 37:55, Elizabeth Renondeau (37:55) was a close second, while Joanna Marsden took third in 39:42).
Featured as our event of the week in April, the 10k receives great feedback year upon year and it is little surprise it is edging in on a sell-out. Registration, which is priced at £19, is available here.
