There are just a few days remaining for anyone looking to take advantage of the early bird sale at the English Half Marathon. The 2018 edition of the event, which also incorporates a 5k, 10k and family mile over the course of 14–16 September, will be of particular significance this year with the half marathon celebrating its 10th anniversary.
A decade in existence has served the English Half Marathon extremely well: in 2014, race organisers expanded the event under the banner of the EHM Festival of Run with the addition of a 10k road race and family fun run. 2017 witnessed the launch of the Friday Night 5K, the perfect evening kick-off to what is now a full weekend of running.
Over its 10 years, the half has regularly attracted a sell-out field and is expected to do so in 2018. Part of its ongoing attraction is its great course, the event takes runners through Warrington and concludes with a spectacular finish through the town's Golden Gates.
In the later stages runners enjoy some great sights - the Guardians at Market Gate, the River of Life on Bridge Street, the Cultural Quarter and Halliwell Jones Stadium, home of Warrington Wolves, before the grand finale.
If you want to be part of the anniversary celebrations at the English Half Marathon, visit the event website here to take advantage of the early bird offer before Sunday 31 December. Entry is available here.
