Time is running out if you are looking to get into the festive spirit early at this Sunday’s (24 November) Jingle Bee Jog. Entries for the event, which will raise money for the Running Bee Foundation, remain open and priced at just £11 (or £16 inclusive of Santa suit).
The Sports Tours International organised event will see participants walk, stroll or jog 4k, which starts and finishes in the spectacular MediaCityUK Piazza, Salford Quays. Reflecting the fun spirit of the day, no times will be taken at the event.
Starting just outside of the BBC offices, Santas, elves and other festive characters will run past the Lowry Plaza at the Lowry Outlet Mall, over the bridge, past the Imperial War Museum and over the Manchester Ship Canal via the bridge before finishing in wonderful Christmas-themed MediaCityUK.
With entry to this year’s event, participants will receive a festive medal and all little runners will get a tasty selection box, while there will also be Christmas markets and music on throughout the course of the day. To really get into the festive spirit, it has been confirmed real-life reindeers will be at the event from 9–11am.
Proceeds from the event will go to the nominated charity, the Running Bee Foundation. The charity aims to improve the health and well being of local residents and to help tackle the challenge of childhood obesity.
