This weekend will see the return of the Grand 10K Run at Aintree (Liverpool) with organisers expecting more than 1000 runners to take part. Entries for the event are still open, with registration priced at just £25 (or £23 for club runners).
Last year’s inaugural event was a great success with over 700 runners taking part. The 10k route sees competitors follow a route entirely within the grounds of Aintree Racecourse, home to the Grand National.
The 10k passes through some of the most famous names in British horseracing including The Chair and Becher's Brook and along the Melling Road. The exciting course is predominantly flat, perfect for runners looking to achieve an autumn PB.
This year's Grand 10K at Aintree will for the first time include a toddler trot for any little ones wanting to take part. The toddlers will have the chance to run 400m around the inner section of the course with all runners receiving a medal.
Online entry is available at Sports Tours International’s website.
