The Great Run Company is teaming up with sports technology specialists TomTom UK as the official wearable technology partner for the Great Run series of events in 2016. Great Run events attract 280,000 participants a year, stretching across the UK from Glasgow to Portsmouth and offering a full range of distances from 5k through to a marathon team relay.
As part of the partnership, Great Run participants will have the opportunity to trial TomTom’s extensive product range to help improve their performance and general fitness. Under the deal, TomTom will have a presence at all Great Run events over 2016.
Great Run Company chief executive Mark Hollinshead said: “We are delighted to welcome TomTom as our official wearable technology partner. Fitness and performance is obviously very important to our runners, and therefore the partnership with TomTom, and their product range, is the perfect fit.”
