Technology is at hand tomorrow (Sunday 6 April) to help the 10,000 capacity field at tomorrow's big race with the release of The App for the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon. The App will help runners prepare, run and recover efficiently from the challenge and has the support of ASICS and the Institute of Sport Science. .The App is available to download from iTunes and Google play.

ASICS is also offering Pace Your Race, which is the popular free service offered by ASICS at its top running events. Based on the runners’ desired end time for the race, they calculate the split times that runners need to achieve that time and provide runners with a wrist band that they wear throughout the race. In addition runners will also receive a course map matched up with their race time so friends and family know where and when to cheer. Runners can collect their free pacing wrist band at the ASICS booth at car park E2, Manchester Old Trafford Football Ground, from 7am-4pm on race day.

The ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon features a unique entertainment programme, with the organisers promising a day filled with sporting extravaganza on the flat, fast course alongside huge community support and a celebratory festival atmosphere for both runners and spectators.

The ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon 2014 starts at 9:00 am under the Trafford Arch on the A56 and the race hub is based at Old Trafford Football Stadium (E2 car park). The route takes in the Trafford Quays area, Media City, Sale, Brooklands, Timperley, Altrincham, Urmston and Stretford.

Registration is now closed.
