Our preview of this year’s Tour of Tameside continues with a look at the Copley Fell Race.
The second leg at the Tour of Tameside pulls no punches with competitors up against a testing 7 mile fell run. Organised for Friday 17 June, the Copley Fell Race follows on from the Cross Trail 10K the previous day at the iconic Tameside event.
As with each of the Tour of Tameside legs, participants can commit to the full tour or choose to take part in individual races. The Copley event may well be one of the most challenging, yet also rewarding, across the four days.
Runners begin alongside Walkerwood Reservoir before leading into Brushes Road and then move towards the fell. From here, the course leads up to the Trigg Point. Once you have reached the top, you will make your descent along with other runners towards the finish beside the leisure centre.
For those looking to sharpen their fitness in the summer months, the Copley Fell Race looks like it will be the perfect event. Registration is priced at just £15: more information and entry details are available here.
