Race organisers BTR Liverpool have relocated from Liverpool city centre to Hoylake on the Wirral. The new spot is located at 82 Market Street, and, like before, the BTR office will be family run and they have already joined forces with their neighbours to start a new running club, the Ship Inn Striders.
BTR is behind a series of popular events in the North West including Vitality Liverpool Half Marathon (which now includes a 10 mile race too), Mersey Tunnel 10K, Port Sunlight 10K/5K/1K, Liverpool Santa Dash, and award winning Wirral Half Marathon/10K.
The team hit the ground running and set up The Ship Inn Striders, who will meet twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday). Two groups will be held and will cater for all abilities, sessions are free.
BTR race director Alan Rothwell explained: “The move will allow us to continue to operate commercially without passing on additional operational costs to our customers, that is very important to us as our overall aim is to encourage and inspire people to run. The move will not affect BTR’s strong race portfolio.
Alan added: “We already feel settled into our new office space in Hoylake, it’s business as usual. We host a number of races across Wirral already – including the award-winning Wirral Half Marathon – so this feels like a natural progression. However, I can reassure our Santa Dash regulars that we will have a pop-up shop in Liverpool for Santa suit collection later this year.”
