Always Aim High Events have announced that entries for the 2015 Anglesey Half Marathon are now open, with a 13% discount for anyone registering before 19 May. Based on the north west coast of Wales, the half marathon, which is also known as the Island Race, has established a reputation as one of the more unique races in the UK with a course that starts on Thomas Telford’s historic Menai Bridge.
The event will celebrate its fourth anniversary on Sunday 1 March, 2015, and is looking to build on the 1100 participants it attracted last year. From the Menai Bridge, runners move along the gorgeous Menai Strait coastline all the way up to Beaumaris and back. The race is often referred to as being the UK’s most beautiful half marathon.
Speaking ahead of entries opening for the Anglesey Half Marathon, event planner and Always Aim High events director, Nigel Kendrick, was keen to build on the successes of the 2014 race: “We were so delighted with how the 2014 Anglesey Half Marathon went. The feedback we received was fantastic and we are pleased to be hosting a race that is so well supported not only by runners but by the local community as well. The Anglesey Half Marathon is a great race for runners of all abilities.
‘The course, which is mostly on traffic free roads, has real PB potential and is very popular with pros and novices alike. The event will also include a junior race set in a fun and friendly atmosphere that the whole family can enjoy. So if you are thinking of running any half marathon next March make sure it's the Anglesey Half Marathon, and make sure you bring the whole family!”
