Isle Of Man Shaping Up For 2017 Marathon

Isle of Man Marathon

Regarded as one of the top running events in the UK due to its stunning course, which starts and finishes in Ramsey, the Microgaming Isle of Man Marathon and Half Marathon is certainly a race that will place high on any runner’s CV. Scheduled for Sunday 13 August, the 2017 event will include a marathon relay, giving a team of four the opportunity to complete 26.2 miles.

Set on a coastal town in the north of the island, nestled between England and Ireland, the route will be run over the Manx north course. From Ramsey, competitors will head along Mooragh Promenade past the site of the former Grand Island hotel and on to Bride, Andreas and St Judes before turning back towards Ramsey. Marathon runners will complete two laps.

Tadhg O'Mahony, Mandine Wilson & Phil Motley of the Isle of Man Marathon Sub-Committee told runABC North: “Following our successful race last year, preparations for the big day are proceeding well. We already have a good number of entries, but now is the time to get yours in – if you haven't already.

“With the legendary buffet afterwards, an excellent goodybag including a technical T-shirt and a race rated as one of the top in the UK, this is one run you don't want to miss.”
