Two-time Olympian Mara Yamauchi is to give a presentation at the Lever Club in Port Sunlight on Thursday 8 September. The event is organised by Run Better and Wirral AC with all proceeds going to Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Yamauchi is one of the UK's most decorated distance athletes and currently holds the second fastest time by a British woman over the marathon, behind the world-record holder, Paula Radcliffe.
Her career has included bronze at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games 10,000m, winning the 2008 Osaka Ladies’ Marathon, finishing runner-up in the 2009 London Marathon, and sixth at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Now a qualified athletics coach, Yamauchi will be on hand to share advice on how to get the best from yourself as an endurance athlete. After the presentation, she will be available to answer individual questions.
Tickets for the event are available here.
