Entries for Kielder Marathon weekend close at 5pm today (Monday 23 September). The events, which include a marathon, Run Bike Run, Kielder 10K and Junior Run, take place on October 5 and 6.
Set in the surroundings of northern Europe's largest man-made lake and England's largest working forest, Kielder Marathon is billed as 'Britain's most beautiful.' Last year's event drew in a field of over 1,000 runners, with Ceri Rees and Angela Mudge securing top place finishes.
Organiser of the event and Olympic medallist, Steve Cram, commented: "It's such an amazing place, seeped in history and with its spectacular scenery and impressive off-road course it's a great place to run. There is something for everybody to participate in over the Kielder Marathon weekend. I would urge anybody who wants to take part in any of the events to secure their place as soon as possible."
The Kielder 10K is organised for Saturday 5 October and registration is priced at £25 or £27 for unaffiliated runners, while Kielder Marathon is priced at £35 and £37 respectively.
