Avid readers of training schedules, running magazines and coaching manuals may be interested in Run England's latest courses to becoming a qualified group leader. Taking place in various north of England locations from 13 April, the one-day course allows the candidate to receive a Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) qualification.
The course covers all there is to know about the leadership of a running group, from how to address potential barriers in getting started, to how to provide a varied and enjoyable session week after week. Support and resources from the Run England programme, including marketing and group hosting are available for qualified leaders.
With spring being the busiest time for newcomers arriving to the sport and continuing runners looking to compete in events, group leaders are increasingly in demand. Run England is offering the LiRF qualification at £110, with the potential for subsidised course fees (while places are available) if the candidate works with their local County Sports Partnership in their local projects too.
