Organisers of the Ikano Robin Hood half marathon have announced they are giving youngsters the exclusive chance to design the race t-shirt for this year's Ikano mini marathon and schools challenge. The Ikano mini marathon, which takes place alongside the half marathon in Nottingham on Sunday, September 30, encourages people to run, walk or jog a 1.5 mile course.
In celebration of the Ikano mini marathon and in order to inspire creativity in young people, the race organisers are calling all children aged between 4 and 16 years to create and submit a design for the race t-shirts.
The prize package for the winner includes a special individual trophy, free entry to the Ikano mini marathon and £100 for their school's art department, as well as the unique opportunity to see their design on race t-shirts proudly worn by over 1,500 runners on race day.
Vivienne Saunders, communications manager at Ikano Financial Services, commented: "Every participant taking part in the Ikano mini marathon receives a t-shirt, and it's always a great sight to see runners of all ages at the start line in their race t-shirts. This year we wanted to inspire and encourage children to get involved in a creative way and we look forward to receiving lots of exciting designs."
