Marcus Scotney, winner of last year’s notorious Montane Spine Challenge Race, will lend advice on endurance running at a pop-up evening at the Ultra Runner Store in Northumberland. The free event, scheduled for Tuesday 24 March, will also allow attendees to test the latest Montane Trail Running packs and Hoka One One footwear.
Scotney began his ultra journey in 2008 when he finished in second place behind Jez Bragg at the Devil O’ the Highlands footrace. Since then his impressive CV has expanded to include first place finishes at the Brathay Windermere Marathon, Lakeland Trails Marathon, Ultra Tour of the Peak District and the Keswick Trail Half Marathon.
Over the past few years, Scotney has also represented England five times over 100k, once at 50k and represented Great Britain at the 2010 World and European 100km Championship. With such vast experience, Scotney’s appearance and talk is sure to be warmly welcomed at the event.
Since opening in 2013, the Ultra Runner Store has become one of the most popular running outlets in Northumberland.
