Nominations for the 2016 edition of the Merseyside Running Community Awards are now open. The event, scheduled for Friday 11 November, celebrates and awards the individuals and groups who contribute to the growing running scene on Merseyside.
As with 2015, the number of categories will be set at 10, with a shortlist of three finalists drawn up in each. A full list of nomination categories is available here. The finalists will be announced on Monday 10 October and voting will remain open for three weeks.
The awards are the brainchild of RUN (Running Unites Network), a group of like-minded volunteer runners from across Merseyside who meet on a regular basis to discuss all things running with race organisers BTR Liverpool. Collectively, RUN and BTR Liverpool created the Merseyside Running Community Awards in 2014 to showcase and celebrate all that is positive and inspiring about the sport locally.
This year’s awards will take place on the evening of Friday 11 November, at The Richmond Hotel Liverpool on Hatton Garden, Liverpool city centre. Tickets for the event will go on sale on Monday 10 October – keep an eye on the BTR Liverpool website for further details.
