Model and TV personality Nell McAndrew raced to victory last Saturday at the Running4Women Windsor 10k, claiming a new course record.
The event, part of the Windsor Running festival, saw a record 796 runners cross the finish line. One of the first women-only races, the competitors ranged from club runners to novices and included all ages. Runners and spectators enjoyed the sunny weather and a celebratory atmosphere in Windsor Great Park.
The race started at midday with Nell McAndrew in a strong position form the start. She was in first place by the time the runners reached the approach to the finsh line on the Long Walk in Windsor Great Park. Nell completed the race in a record time of 39.16. Collette Callanan (Sandhusrt Joggers) came in second place with a time of 41:03 and Liz Killip (Stragglers) secured third place in 41:25
The fastest team was the Generation Game – Katherine Hardy and Alexia Limpert-Peers, a mother and daughter team, who achieved the lowest aggregate time of 1:38:31.
