Specialist retail chain, Up & Running is hosting a new series of training events - NightRuns - created to help runners keep going during the darker months. NightRuns are taking place at a number of locations across the north of England. Runners in Chester, Harrogate, Leeds (Headingley), Huddersfield, Manchester and Wakefield will be able to join led groups who will be following set routes. Head torches are available for loan for runs in urban parks and safe pedestrianised routes. The runs in many cases will be supported by Run England LiRF leaders and are designed for all abilities.
The new series of NightRuns is free and Up & Running leaders will be there to offer advice and support on what will be a new and rewarding experience for many runners. In addition all participants get a free Choob scarf worth £8.
Jonathan Midwood at Up & Running told northernrunningguide.com: "We are aiming to keep up everyone's training throughout the winter months and through this their health and fitness. We are encouraging all types of people ranging from keen competitive athletes to novice runners and we are looking to support this with future events perhaps again in November and December.
"We feel that this could turn into a regular training routine and great for runners of all types. It is also something a bit different. There are a number of one off events in the diary like Glow in The Park, but not a regular series of led runs."
