Organisers Xtra Mile Events have confirmed the date for the 2015 edition ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon and 10K. The events, both seen as perfect training platforms for spring marathons, particularly the Greater Manchester Marathon in April, are scheduled for Sunday 8 March.
Held entirely on the famous Oulton Park motor racing circuit in Cheshire, the half marathon consists of 6 laps with 10K runners covering 3. The Oulton Park race track is one of the country's finest motor racing circuits and offers many unique features including a traffic free race track, super smooth tarmac and the finish straight on the pit line, guaranteeing a unique running experience.
Race director Simon Hill commented: “We are excited to confirm the date of the second ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon and 10K, which is the perfect event for runners to start their road running season and for anyone running the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon six weeks later.”
Simon said the unique course is a big draw for both spectators as well as runners: “The Oulton Park runs is also a great event for spectators to come and watch, soak up the atmosphere and cheer on family and friends. We are also pleased to welcome ASICS back as the title sponsor.”
