The Overgate Hospice 5 & 10k Challenge takes place in early April and takes in some of the finest scenery that Calderdale has to offer. Both the 5k and 10k routes start outside Trinity Academy in Halifax, taking runners up into Bradshaw and back down to the Academy, ending with a downhill perfect for a sprint finish.
An average of over 500 runners are cheered on and guided by volunteer marshals, including charity mascot Harold the Hospice Hare, as they take in wonderful views and take on challenging hills in support of Calderdale’s only adult hospice.
Runners are welcomed back at the finish by the nursing team from the Hospice and are awarded their medal and goody bag, containing your finishers T-shirt and much more besides, before re-joining family and friends.
Children are welcome to take on the 5k route; however those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The 10k route is open to adults only.
Registration is open now with prices at £8 for children/£12 for adults on the 5k route, and £12 for affiliated/£14 for non-affiliated runners on the 10k route. If numbers allow, places are available on the day for a £6 surcharge.
