Pacers wanted for Humber Half

Pacers wanted

Race organisers Tape2Tape are on the look out for pacers for the upcoming ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon. The event, scheduled for Sunday 15 September, is just three years young but has already enjoyed a fantastic claim to fame with a superb location on the sea front.

For September’s race, organisers are searching for applicants who can run at a consistent pace throughout the 13.1 miles, comfortably pacing one of the following finishing times with another pacer for those aiming to finish in 1 hr 30, 1 hr 40, 1 hr 45, 1 hr 50, 2 hrs, 2 hr 15, 2 hr 30.

Successful applicants will be given the opportunity of taking part in a race that looks set to attract over 2000 runners this year. The half marathon will showcase the amazing Humber coastline and show off the sites and sounds of the seaside town. Moving from Kings Road, runners will embark upon a multi-terrain course that takes in flat fast tarmac, historic coastal footpath, trails, plus new and old holiday parks.

Last year saw a Lincoln Wellington AC 1-2 as William Strangeway (1:10:47) took first ahead of clubmate Ryan Page (1:11:46), with Scott Harrington claiming third in 1:11:57. Hallamshire Harriers’ Charlotte Ward was the top female in 1:24:21, with Nicola Curtis (1:25:34) and Carolyn Hay (1:26:58) following.

The race is organised by Tape2Tape events, who are also behind the popular Gruesome Twosome 10K and Half Marathon, the Great Grimsby 10K and the Run Your Heart Out Valentines 10K.
