parkrun celebrated its 9th birthday this weekend, with organisers across the world asking participants to send in pictures and video clips from their local event this weekend.
Known as 'international parkrun day', the parkrun community came together to share their experiences at Saturday's event through social media, with the hashtag #loveparkrun going viral.
Founded by Paul Simon-Hewitt, parkrun staged its first event in Bushy (then known as Bushy Park Time Trial) on October 2004. Now, parkrun boasts more than 300 events across eight countries around the world and has in excess of 630,000 runners registered.
The favourite video clips will be used to make the first global parkrun promotional film. To have a look at some of the best images and videos from Saturday's events, type in #loveparkrun to twitter.
