The Virgin Money London Marathon Expo takes place from Wednesday to Saturday, marking the build-up to Sunday’s big race. Taking place at London’s Dockland’s Excel Centre the four day exhibition will see 37,000 runners file through the doors to collect their official race numbers.
Paula Radcliffe officially opened the Expo this morning to the huge hall which sees hundreds of race organisers, charities, running apparel manufacturers, fitness experts and anyone and everyone in the UK who operates in the running market represented.
It is a Disneyland for runners! Sunday will mark the 35th edition of the race and Paula Radcliffe’s last major competition.
“The London Marathon means so much to me,” said the 41-year-old. “I’ve grown up with it, watched it for so many years, and have really special memories from 2002, 2003 and 2005. I never thought I would be back here, so it’s really special and emotional that I’ve got a chance to do it again.”
