Alzheimer’s Research UK, parkrun’s official charity partner, is offering runners the opportunity to take part in the 2016 Cambridge Half Marathon. The event, scheduled for Sunday 28 February, is already a sell out with 7000 competitors from across the UK committed to taking part.
In what will be its fifth year, the race will be held on a new one-lap course starting on Victoria Avenue, with Midsummer Common being the main event hub.
The race route will head through the centre of Cambridge; past the Round Church, Kings College, Fitzwilliam Museum and along The Backs. The new section will see runners head out of the city along Trumpington Road, through Grantchester and back into the city along the Barton Road.
To apply for the challenge, prospective participants are being asked to fill out an application form explaining why they would like to run as part of Alzheimer’s Research UK. Runners are to pledge a fundraising target of £250 and will receive an ARUK running vest and as much support as required from our fundraising team.
