While most of us will use the festive season to recharge our batteries and sneak in an extra hour in bed, Pontefract parkrun has organised both a Christmas and New Year’s Day run to ensure you can keep your training on track during the winter months.
The ‘Christmas parkrun Pass’ will allow runners to take part in the extra two events, both of which are organised for 9am. Like every other parkrun, the events will timed, results published and will count towards t-shirts.
The West Yorkshire event, established in May 2011, regularly attracts over 200 participants and takes place within the parkland on the inside of Pontefract Racecourse.
In addition to the extra runs at Pontefract, neighbours Nostell Priory have announced they will be hosting a New Year’s Day run at 10:30am. More information on both events is available through the parkrun website.
