The 2017 edition of BTR Liverpool’s Port Sunlight 10K/5K will now have a prime summer slot with the event scheduled for Sunday 18 June. Set against the stunning Port Sunlight village, the 5k and 10k races are likely to become an even more attractive prospect for runners from Merseyside and across the country.
One of the key events in the BTR portfolio, the race enjoyed immediate success when launched in 2012. Part of this has undoubtedly been down to its location: the model village was created on the Wirral at the end of the 19th century by Lever Brothers to accommodate workers in its soap factory (now part of Unilever). The name is derived from Lever Brothers' most popular brand of cleaning agent, Sunlight.
As with previous years, runners will be invited to push themselves to the next level by competing in both events – the 5k starts at 10am and the 10k an hour later. Those who complete both will be the lucky recipients of a special dual race 15k T-shirt.
The Port Sunlight 10K/5K will also trigger the RUN+ GOLD award for anyone who has taken part in three of this year's BTR events, which include the Vitality Liverpool Half Marathon, BTR 10 Mile Road Race and the Run for the 96 5K. If you have taken part in any three of those five races just download a RUN+ GOLD application form from the BTR website.
Registration for the 10k is priced at £23, while the 5k is £18. Further entry details are available here.
