Just over two weeks after another successful staging that saw over 3,600 runners compete in Chester Marathon and the accompanying metric event, organisers have already started the ball rolling for 2018. Anyone currently looking to enter next year’s event can take advantage of 25% off their registration.
Since its inception in 2009, the MBNA Chester Marathon has received considerable praise and was voted as the UK's number 1 marathon in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, the Metric Marathon was introduced, a 26.2k race that has proven to be highly popular.
A big draw for marathoners has been the fast course on offer, which departs from Chester city centre, moves south of the Dee towards Farndon and Holt, loop over the border into Wales before returning for a grandstand finish at the racecourse.
The 2018 event, scheduled for Sunday 7 October, will no doubt offer the same quality as previous years and prospective participants can take advantage of discounted entries until the end of this month.
