Any Northern runners looking to kick-start their autumn training this weekend may be interested to know that the popular Sheffield TenTenTen at Endcliffe Park is still taking entries. Registration for the event, set to attract around 1000 runners, closes at midnight this Friday (17 October).
This year will also see the race celebrate its 5th year: the first edition was organised for 10 October 2010, hence the name. A scenic two-lap course, the route has been devised to give competitors an experience of a multi-terrain format with the 10k taking in parkland, winding tree covered paths and trails.
The 2013 event saw Will Mycroft take first position in a time of 35:19, followed by Carl Edgell (35:49) and Ian Withers (36:52). Christine Howard led the female field home in 43:53, with Jenney Murray (44:49) and Caroline Brock taking second and third place respectively.
For anyone looking to take part, entry for the TenTenTen is just £18. A 2.5k fun run will also be taking place prior to the 10k event, and is priced at £8. Registration is available here.
