Runners in the North West are being given the unique opportunity to test their limits at the upcoming Race the Tide in Cumbria. The 10K race, scheduled for Saturday 24 August, will challenge competitors to complete obstacles, crawl through mud, wade and swim through rivers and scramble to the top of wooded hillsides.
Set against the stunning, historical grounds of Muncaster Castle which overlooks the River Esk in Cumbria, the course follows a challenging route that contains both natural and man-made obstacles.
In true traditional style, to celebrate the completion of the race there will be an after party, which includes a hog roast and live ceilidh band throughout the evening.
Set over the August bank holiday (23 – 26 August), the action-packed event gives prospective participants the opportunity to make a weekend of it.
The Race the Tide Weekender ticket (priced at £84) includes three nights camping, the hog roast, plus a pass for Muncaster Castle and a guided tour. Alternatively, single race day entry is priced at £44.
