Adventure enthusiasts in the north east will be buoyed by the news that the Stockton River Rat Race is set to return to the borough on Sunday 25 August. The event, organised by Rat Race Adventure Sports and Stockton Council, will see brave souls run, jump, swim, kayak and climb the course along both banks of the river Tees past many of Teesside's iconic structures.
Event organiser Jim Mee, director of Rat Race, commented: "We're looking forward to bringing our River Rat Race back to the banks of the Tees. It's a fantastic event that is growing year on year, with the help of Stockton Council we promise this year is going to be bigger with a few surprise obstacles thrown into the mix."
Jim added: "More and more people are switching on to the fun of adventure races. All you need for the Stockton River Rat Race is a pair of trainers, some old clothes that you don't mind getting wet and muddy, a willingness to try something new and a sense of humour!"
Interested can runners can enter either as an individual or as a team of 5 or 10. For more information and to visit the event website. Entries close on 21 August.
