After a three year break, the Pennine Lancashire 10K will return to the calendar this summer and becomes the latest addition to the Run for All Series. Organised for Sunday 2 June, the revamped 10k will take place in Burnley, rather than its previous location in Blackburn, with organisers promising a picturesque route for runners.
Starting and finishing at Burnley's Mechanics Theatre on Manchester Road, the race will incorporate some of the town’s best-loved landmarks including Rowley Lake, Towneley Hall, Thompson Park and Turf Moor.
Burnley FC manager Sean Dyche attended the official launch of the 10k and encouraged football fans to take part: “Burnley FC is proud to be supporting what is certain to be a fantastic new event for the town. There’s already a great buzz about the new Pennine Lancashire 10K and I hope Burnley supporters will pull on their trainers and hit the streets to raise funds for a favourite charity.”
The Pennine Lancashire race joins Hull, Leeds and York in the 10k series. In January, the Jane Tomlinson Run for All team further expanded their portfolio with the launch of the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon, which saw over 5,500 places snapped up in a matter of days.
More information on all of their events is available on the Run for All website.
