Now in its 5th year, Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run returns on Sunday 6 October. This relatively new event has received lots of great feedback from entrants, attracting runners from across the north of England and beyond since 2015.
The routes take in the town and some of the borough’s best countryside scenes including the Grade 1 listed town hall where all races start, the Esplanade, the iconic Rochdale Canal, Hollingworth Lake Country Park and the beautiful Broadfield Park.
It’s a traffic free course for all three distances and all participants receive a medal, with half marathon and 10K runners receiving a technical T-shirt. The half marathon and 10K routes are relatively flat too, so good for personal bests.
The online entry deadline is approaching – 29 September, so sign up before then to make sure you don’t miss out.
If you’re not familiar with the routes, they’ve produced a video for runners and spectators showing off the courses with the help of a Z4, 3 Series, i3 and BMW Cruise Mountain Bike from sponsors Williams BMW, which you can view on their website.
The event is organised by Middleton Harriers, Rochdale Harriers and Rochdale Triathlon Club supported by Rochdale Borough Council.
