Race organisers Kandoo Events have launched a new event Round Sheffield Run, an 11 stage, 24.5km course that starts and finishes in Endcliffe Park. Due to take place on Sunday 29 June, the unique multi-stage event will utilise some of the best trails in Sheffield, linking unspoilt parkland and green spaces.
The 11 timed stages make up 20k of the 24.5k route, with each section of the race broken down into separate stages. Each stage is raced and competitors will receive both results for each stage as well as a combined overall result.
Competitors have the opportunity to relax, regroup with their friends and refocus before the next stage begins. Post-race refreshments, including a beer tent and BBQ, await all finishers.
Organisers believe this set-up will bring about a special and unique social vibe. Event director Doug Banks comments: “Our philosophy of quality events is about bringing the community together and designing the event such that an all-inclusive nature prevails. This event promises a new kind of running experience."
