Organisers of the Brathay Windermere Marathon and Brathay 10 in 10 have set runners a new challenge for 2013 with the launch of a 128 mile ultra. Simply called Run on Water, the 4 day event will take competitors from Granary Wharf in Leeds on 21 March, and will finish at Albert Dock, Liverpool, on 24 March.
Following the length of the canal from start to finish, members of the Brathay team will support runners for the duration of the 182 miles. The 4 sections have been divided into stages of 29, 32, 33 and 34 miles. Overnight, shared 'bunkhouse' type accommodation has been planned for the stops in Skipton, Church and Wigan.
While support will be available at several points along the route, prospective competitors should have already completed a marathon or an ultra before applying. With only 30 applicants accepted, the Brathay team is encouraging those interested to register as soon as possible.
