Organisers of Run or Dye have confirmed they will bring their colour and fun-filled event to Manchester on Saturday 18 April. The 5k run, which will take place at Platt Fields, is said to have been inspired by the ancient Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the ‘Festival of Colours.’
Participants are encouraged to run, jog or walk to the finish line, getting covered head-to-toe in colour as they go. Four Dye Zones throughout the route will ensure there’s no getting away from the all-encompassing and full-on brilliance for what is billed as the ‘most colourful 5k in the world'.
The Manchester event will be the first Run or Dye of the 2015 series, kicking off a year of fun and fitness for people across the UK. Participants jogging, walking and dancing through Platt Fields will take in the stunning Platt Hall as well as Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens.
Runners can run dressed in white and run ready or in their favourite and most extravagant costumes. As part of registration all participants will receive a goody bag with their white t-shirt, plus their very own dye packs. After crossing the finish line, runners, and spectators, can celebrate in the world famous Dye Festival as the full force of the brilliant colours are blasted all around.
