Race organisers Tape2Tape have added an exciting new race to their schedule for 2019 and it is one that is sure to get the love birds singing. Scheduled for Sunday 10 February, the Run Your Heart Out Valentine’s 10K in Scunthorpe will offer runners the chance to enter with their offer half, with the top five couples in line for a romantic prize.

Launched earlier this week, the race further strengthens Tape2Tape’s portfolio, which already includes the Great Grimsby 10K, Humber Coastal Half, Gruesome Twosome 10K and Half Marathon and the North Lincolnshire Half Marathon.

A quirk of the race is the couples element. When signing up to the race you can link your entry to that of your partner/friend. Prizes for the first five couples over the line (based on aggregated finish positions….no need to run holding hands and finish together!)

While the 10k takes place on Valentine’s weekend, it isn’t just for those romantically involved - singles are welcome, who knows you may meet your partner for a 2020 double! Organisers promise a fast and flat course departing from Quibell Park in Scunthorpe with the route estimated to have just 250m of incline.

For February’s race, the event will be supporting the British Heart Foundation, with a voluntary option to donate £1 to the charity when entering. All finishers will receive a fantastic medal and Valentine’s themed gift.

Registration for the Run Your Heart Out Valentine’s 10K is now open and priced at £20 (or £18 for affiliated runners). More information is available here
