Lucja Leonard and Marina Ranger successfully completed their Simply Runderful #500kin5Days challenge yesterday (31 July), which saw them run the length of the Netherlands wearing only their pink (R)underwear. By taking part in the challenge, the pair are aiming to raise £20,000 for breast cancer charity Pink Ribbon.
Lucja posted on Facebook today, reflecting on the challenge: “Waking up this morning & knowing I don't have to run is great today! Coffee in bed while resting my tired legs! What memories! What an achievement with this little pocket rocket Marina, An absolute trooper and superhero and love her to bits. It hasn't quite sunk in as to what we've accomplished but I feel super proud! Thanks again for all your support! Amazing amount of money raised for Pink Ribbon Foundation.”
Marina tweeted: “Still can't believe it @Runningdutchie we've just run the length of Holland! #500kin5days thks all for your support😘”
The pair were joined by other runners at various stages of the challenge, and many others showed their support by posting photos of themselves wearing Runderwear on social media. You can donate to the cause at the Simply Runderful Just Giving page or by buying your very own pink Runderwear (who are donating 10% of the ‘pink’ proceeds to Pink Ribbon Foundation).
