Veteran Midlands runner Doug Richards has just returned from his latest international adventure - a half marathon in Myanmar (formerly Burma) but is not resting on his laurels. The Redditch man is releasing an eBook titled 'Running Hot & Cold' and published by Pitch Publishing. The book describes Doug's running adventures and how they have enriched his life and helped him through some tough times. 'Running Hot & Cold' is available on Amazon from 24 December and can be pre-ordered now.
Doug's running journey has taken him from the stifling heat of the Sahara and Gobi Deserts to the bitter cold of a Siberian winter and the Greenland ice-cap. "Like so many people, I got to my mid-30s and decided I needed to do something about my declining fitness levels, so I decided to go for a one mile run. I would never have believed what that run would lead to - I have had so many amazing adventures and made so many friends around the world."
Doug recently qualified as a leader in running fitness with Run England and is hoping the eBook will not only inspire those who already run, but also others new to running by joining his local council-led, free 'Couch to 5K' programmes.
Details of the book are available on Amazon.
