Activity Sheffield has set up permanently marked running routes in Graves Park and Norfolk Heritage Park to encourage more people to take up the sport. The routes are part of Run England's 3-2-1 initiative, which aims to identify suitable target routes and distances for new runners.
There are three alternative routes on offer in each location, all clearly and accurately marked, to provide not only a fun route to use in some great areas of the city for running, but also a way to monitor progress and set challenges.
Craig Blain, Run England Area Coordinator for the North, said: "The launch of the 3-2-1 routes are great news for Sheffield. The city already has a strong number of Run England groups and athletics clubs and the addition of the running routes offers yet another opportunity for local residents to pull on their trainers and give it a go."
The routes will be soon detailed in an online map on the Run England website. For those that prefer to run with a partner, there are groups in Sheffield which offer the motivation and support of other like-minded people. You can find your nearest group at the Run England website.
